Story 1: Substitute teacher (Part 8)

Eric sat at the last row of chairs in his class. Today was unusual because their math teacher still hadn't entered the class, and they were five minutes late.

Suddenly the door of their classroom and their principal walked in with another person. It took a moment for him to realize that the second person was Sean.

"Hello, class," the principal said. "Your normal math teacher wanted to go on vacation and won't be back till next month. Till then your new math teacher will be Sean. Um... Sean, what is your last name?"

"They can just call me Sean," Sean said.

"Um... okay. Class, please behave," the principal said before leaving the class.

"Okay, now that he has left, can you all move forward, I don't think you can see what I am writing on the board from the last row of the class," Sean said.

Eric rolled his eyes and moved to a seat in the row ahead of him.

"Now, what page in the book are we on?" Sean asked.

"We are on page thirty-five," one of the students said.

"Nice try," Sean said, smiling faintly. "We are definitely not on page thirty-five. It is the middle of the year and the book is around three hundred pages long. I know for a fact we complete the book this year. What page are we actually on?"

"Page a hundred and fifty-two," Eric said because most of the people seemed too surprised to speak.

The rest of the class went normally though Sean managed to make everybody finish their homework during class while still making the class fun.

Finally, it was time for their first break. Eric waited for everybody to leave before walking over to Sean.

"Hello, Sean. Why did you become my substitute teacher?" Eric said.

"Finn wanted me to," Sean said.

"I am pretty sure Lana didn't want you to though," Eric said with a grin.

Sean glared at him, before taking out his adaptor from his pocket. "We are meeting at five again."

"Why?" Eric asked, confused.

"We are probably going to infiltrate the place which we got captured in to steal the twelve MBs they have so far," Sean said.

"We just escaped that place and they want us to go there again?"

"Yup, weird," Sean agreed.

"Do you think they are going to try to capture us?" Eric asked.

"They might try to," Sean admitted.

"So that is why Finn wanted you to be here."
